LOST

BUT 06A11 LOSES WITH HONOUR TO 06S6E AS THEY GO DOWN FIGHTING 2-3

06A11, a team that consisted entirely of non badminton players, went down fighting to 06S6E in today's knock out match. Despite victory being so close to their gasp, 06S6E outshone 06A11 in the final match of the mixed doubles to claim a well deserved victory.

team captain celestine tan said after shaking hands with her opponents as a sign of goodwill after the match "I think we played well but obviously the better team won tonight. nevertheless i felt the team played their best and enjoyed themselves tonight and that is what's most important. congrats to 06S6E for reaching the semis. and also, thanks to all the supporters for being there for us today!"

indeed.. tonight set the stage for a hard fought battle for both teams as they battled for the last remaining spot in the semi finals of this prestigious tournament.

0-1
would be considered a blitz as ex badminton player from river valley and MVP of this round *blank* thrashed our player donald in a mere 10-15 mins 11-1. talk about class. no hard feelings donald.

1-1
team captain celestine tan did not seem to be at her usual best as she looked shaky in her 11-5 victory over chinagirl bo chao. however, even so, celestine took the game to her china counterpart who came back strong, recording 5 straight points against celestine in a single serve. this was also the most points that celestine has lost in a singles match. however, our team captain was calm and composed as she regained serve and finish the match.

1-2
going 5-2 up in their second serve. guys double pair clement and tay, as well as the rest of the supporters, must have thought that o6a11 might have a fighting chance against their superior opponents, led by MVP of the round *blank*. tay and clement would only score another 3 more points as their opponents scored consecutive points to take the game 11-8. despite the lost, many felt that this was the best game played by 06A11 tonight.

2-2
girls pair tamsyn tong and celestine tan gave 06a11 a glimmer of hope as they won the match 11-4. despite early fumbles that gave their opponents chance to come within 4-3, celestine and tamsyn combined well to stretch the lead, occasionally losing serve but always gaining it back with ease and finally taking the match with comfort.

2-3
a lousy match in retrospect, marred with vulgarities and flaring temper. 06a11 lost, 11-8. however funny things did occur and this reporter is just pleased everybody had fun, or so i hope. " he kept smacking me and i called him asshole, i think he heard and apologized. haha, i think i should say sorry cos he's a really nice guy and i think he has already "fang sui" (means give chance in chinese) and give us chance already." true indeed. our MVP for this round was indeed a gentleman from malaysia.

WELL DONE EVERYONE!

06S6E lost to 06S68 in the semis after a long and tiring encounter with 06a11 and should be congratulated for claiming a joint third placing with 06S76 in this tournament. 06S77 (who beat 06S76) and 06S68 (who beat 06S6E) will meet in the final next week. congratulations to all of the top 5 teams.
