SWEAT

06A11 have made it to the final 5 of the Inter CT badminton competition after they beat 06S71 in a thrilling encounter that ended up 3-2 in favour of 06A11 after an intense battle that lasted for aproximately an hour.

"er.. teamwork good, tamsyn good lawrence good everybody good!" was this round's MVP again Ms Celestine Tan. she did not have any other comments except for "good job everybody!" which was unusual for the normaly energetic and noisy celestine whom was seemingly very fatigued after the match due to 1 hr PE just before the match. "i'm tired like shit" was her closing comments as she left for a well deserved rest (she honestly needed to bath cos she said she smelt like lawrence when he stinks like shit so yea). "we actually did notdeserve to win, but luck and the umpire was on our side" said lawrence. and indeed, luck is just another element of sports and lets hope its always on 06A11's side.

now here are the highlights from the evening's match.

1. Men's Singles

Mr Donald Tzang went down fighting 11-8 in the opening match. however, no matter what quality his opponent was, blame should not be dealt to him as it was his first match of the campaign and the opening match was usually the most pressurising and the inexperienced Donald who had prior no experience whatsoever in a competitive sports match, have already done well so give yourself a pat on the back Donald and say well done.

2. Men's Doubles

Mr Ryan Heng and Mr Tay Haoran were outclassed by superior opponents Gary and Yilong from 06S71 11-0 but don't feel hard done! there's always the next match to look forward to.

3. Women's Singles

Ms Celestine Tan does it again my beating her opponent with a comfortable 11-4 scoreline to proceed to the next match with ease.

4. Women's Doubles

Ms Celestine Tan's second consecutive match of the evening with handled with equal class. Her humble attitude led her and team mates Ms Tamsyn Tong to totally humble their opponents 11-0. They were superior and had entire control on the match the entire time, never at one moment seeming to have lost it. 06A11 have done it! they are on their way to a great comeback with great spirit from all the players!

5. Mixed Doubles

Ms Celestine Tan's third consecutive match of the nice was the closest encounter of the night and it completed in what would have seemed the greated comebacks of all hwachong inter CT badminton competitions. Meeting strong rival Gary from Men's Doubles fame, Mr. lawrence chan and our heroine was quickly down 5-1 in the opening few serves as Gary and his team mate took advantage of Celestine's fatigue as they targeted her again and again. however resilience and sheer intelligence was not to be counted out, with a stroke of genious, our 2 heroes decided to change a formation from forward backward to left and right to counter Gary's tactics. it worked as they started to target the weaker female opponent! our heroes quickly cleared serve and went up 8-7, however, Gary was not about to lose that easily and took the game to a whole new higher level, winning consecutive 3 points to go 8-10 up! however, determination was the key as celestine and lawrence fought on, cleared set and went on to win 3 points to complete one of the most fabulous comebacks of all time, winning the last match 11-10 to win the match for 06A11 3-2. the last 3 points also witnessed lawrence's having a talent for such a sport as he jumped up to attempt the smack and kept his opponents off guard while he then delivered a superbly controlled drop shot that stunned the opponents. such a feat was attempted without the use of lawrence's spectacles which is at 200 degrees, making it impossible to view his opponents across the net, and making such a feat even more particularly impressive.

WELL DONE HEROES!

06A11 now prepares for next week's showdown with the rest of the strong classes remaining in the competition. it is said according to our dear ally yu herng that 06S77 boasting of 3 ex badminton players, are currently the other weakest team in the competition. what bout us? lol wtf!
