I've just read Celestine's blog entry, and I must also apologise if we put forth an image of being ungentlemanly that day. In our defence I will say that if we knew Xiao Ying and Chuan Han wanted to take cab back too, we would have offered them to go first, but we weren't sure what were their plans at that time, and in the rush we just entered the cabs ourselves.

On the issue of which school's boys are more gentlemanly, I think it is quite useless to debate over it. Even if you reach a satisfactory conclusion, there is no point putting down any school or group of people as it would only create more resentment. Maybe we act ungentlemanly because we have experienced 4 years in an all-boys school, and certain bad habits such as spouting vulgarities, teasing or cracking lewd jokes tend to stick stubbornly and can only be corrected gradually. Another reason could be when we become comfortable with each other, we start to see you girls foremost as friends and equals, and hence tend to adopt the same no-holds-barred attitude we use with all our male friends.

This is of course wrong and we would like to change, hence it would be much appreciated if you could give feedback on what you consider acceptable and what you don't. For example, if you found a joke/action particularly offensive, perhaps you could voice it out clearly and tactfully instead of fuming privately and forming the opinion that "I hate this guy" or "HC guys are atrocious"? That would tell us what are the boundaries we cannot cross and hence help us improve our behaviour in the future.

In conclusion, I would like to thank Celestine for being frank and bringing this matter to light - such discussions, however unpleasant, are always beneficial. Thankfully all of us are still teenagers and have time to make mistakes and improve on them. So here's to more gentlemanly HC guys in the future! =)

Tamsyn, don't worry, you did your best in the match against VJ and put up a very close fight, and we are all very proud of you! Though I cannot come support you in the match against AC, here's wishing you the best of luck! :o) (Though by the time you read this the match would be over, lol)
